FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

You will receive a full gallery of images ranging anywhere from 25-150 pictures depending in your chosen session. You will receive a coupon code to download your designated number but have the option to purchase more digital images and/or prints directly through your gallery. They are delivered via email and can be downloaded to your preferred device.
The numbers seen above do not include mini sessions and weddings. Those image numbers vary greatly depending on several factors.

How should I dress for my session?

It’s not uncommon for people to want to shop for new for your photoshoot. And that’s totally fine - if that’s your jam. But let’s talk about comfort a little more. Do you think you’d be more comfortable in your favorite
t-shirt and jeans or a new clingy little black dress? The best route is usually to go with something that’s tried and true. I also like to mention more muted tones are best! Stray away from bright and very patterny clothes. Something you know moves with you and hugs you in all the right places. Don’t get me wrong - it 100% does not have to be jeans and a t-shirt. You can glam it up a bit more if that’s what you fancy. But if authenticity is what you’re after, you’re going to have to show up as yourself. And if you want to capture this time of your life in all its glory, then it’s about the feeling of being in your own skin.
I will also send a style guide and have a Pintrest board with many examples!

What’s the best time to have a session?

I always love to schedule at either sunrise or sunset. Depending on the type of session that can't happen. Don't worry! I can make anything work if necessary.
No matter the time of your session, give yourself the gift of a relaxed session, allow plenty of time for showers, baths, grooming, and forgetting things.

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Absolutely! My goal is to capture you in your most natural state. I will guide you in a way that keeps the session comfortable and easy flowing. All you have to do is show up and be yourself!

What about a location for my shoot?

If you already know where you want to shoot, that’s amazing – I’m always up for discovering new places. If you’re not so sure, then don’t you sweat it! I’ve got my own little index of locations for almost every scenario and we can go through them together to find the best fit!

How can I prepare for my family shoot?

In the leadup to the shoot, get the kids excited about what’s to come. Show them some photos that I’ve taken, let them know that you’re really excited, that we’ll be playing lots of fun games, and there might even be delicious snacks on offer. This brings me to my next point…

Bring snacks. There are lots of variables in family shoots that are beyond our control. When photographing kids, I’ve learned relatively quickly that every plan is contingent on their mood. But snacks are an almost entirely failsafe mood booster for the little ones (and lots of adults I know, too!). Packing a stash of treats to bust out right when the kids need that slice of motivation buys us a lot of precious time and cooperation! I just ask that they not be bright blue and red suckers! They can stain their mouth and teeth! We don't want that on the photos!
If you wear them and the location calls for it, bring some jackets or hats or other items that reflect this time in your life. If your kids want to bring their favorite stuffed toy or wear their favorite rain boots, let them! Authenticity is in the details.

Why do you have that cloth on your lens?

This is likely my most common question when people first meet with me! This cloth I would say is my "signature" It allows me to create a dream-like look to my photos as well as pull in more light if the surroundings aren't providing what I need! Can I use a flash? Yes, and sometimes that applicable. But I prefer this method first.
You can see it throughout most of my sessions. I LOVE the look it provides.
Do I use it all the time? No, sometimes the session doesn't call for it or I need the images to be more "crisp" But I will use it more often than not :-)

Can I include my pet(s) in the session?

Any and all animals are welcomed during sessions! I LOVE animals! If you love your animal, then I love your animal. There is only one exception-tarantulas. You may have let out a laugh just now. But seriously if you bring one I will cry and run away and still expect to get paid for my troubles.....It's true. Don't even ask!
But any other animal, I'm all about it!
